The coast line of the Costa Calida situated in the province of Murcia and is approximately 155 miles in length. This coast begins in the North with the beach of El Mojón, beside the border of the province of Alicante and ends in the South with the beach of La Carolina in Águilas, towards the border of Almeria. The Costa Calida adjoins two different seas, the Mar Menor or (small sea) and the Mediterranean.

The Mar Menor, Europe's largest salt water lagoon, over 170 square kilometres of shallow water surrounded by the districts of Los Urrutias, El Carmolí, San Javier, Los Alcazares and La Manga to name just a few.
