WATER SPORTS - HOLIDAY ATTRACTIONS ON THE COSTA BLANCA IN SPAIN
Water, Water, Everywhere!
The Costa Blanca is, undoubtedly, one of Europe's most attractive destinations when it comes to enjoying the sun and the beaches in full contact with nature. Located in the Spanish Mediterranean, the Costa Blanca is the tourist highlight of the Alicante Province. A land privileged not only by its weather but also for its environment: its fine golden sandy beaches and inland, where green valleys of fertile orchards contrast with mountains not too high, among which quaint and charming Mediterranean villages emerge. The sun shining almost all year round, coupled with an enviable average temperature of 20°C (55°F), allows for swimming and water sports any time of the year. The natural landscape and parks also provide for trekking, horse riding, bicycle-riding or hiking.
The Costas' history has always been connected to the sea and here you can take full advantage of the wonderful Mediterranean. Whether you want to be above it or below it, there's something for everyone! The summer months are of course the ideal time to experience water sports. You can indulge in wind surfing, water ski-ing; jet ski-ing; paragliding; scuba diving, boat rides and on the beaches of Almadraba and the well hidden Albufereta, when the conditions are right, surfing!
Alicante also has a wonderful marina with a sailing school where you can learn to crew yachts and if a smaller vessel is more your style, then have a go at kayaking! In the winter you can experience the more gentle pursuit of fishing or don your wetsuit and have a go at more typical summer pursuits such as wind surfing.
If its waterparks then Aqualandia in Benidorm or the slightly smaller park in Torrevieja will be an excellent day out for the family.
